Connect Gorgias to Ringly

Log Seth's phone calls into Gorgias as tickets, with the customer matched, the call summary and transcript attached, and tags for filtering.

Written by Maurizio

Seth can log phone calls straight into Gorgias as tickets. Your customers call, Seth handles the conversation, and the whole thing shows up in your helpdesk with the customer matched, a summary and full transcript attached, and tags so you can filter. No copy-paste, no separate call log to check.

Who this is for

You're a Shopify brand using Gorgias as your support helpdesk, and you want phone calls to live in the same place as your email, chat, and social tickets. If your team already works out of Gorgias all day, this keeps Seth's calls in their normal flow instead of in a separate dashboard.

What you get

  • Every call becomes a Gorgias ticket. Calls Seth handled get logged as a closed ticket for your records. Calls that need a human, anything unresolved or escalated, come in open so your team picks them up.

  • The customer is matched for you. Seth looks up the caller in Gorgias by phone number and attaches the ticket to the right person. No hunting for who called.

  • Summary and full transcript on every ticket. A short summary at the top for quick triage, and the full call transcript below when you need the detail.

  • Tags for filtering. Each ticket is tagged with Seth AI call, the call outcome (resolved, unresolved, transferred, escalated, or unclear), and the call category (like WISMO or returns). Build a Gorgias View on any of these to slice Seth's calls how you want.

  • It doesn't add to your Gorgias bill. Gorgias only bills a ticket once your team replies to it. The call records Seth logs sit there for free until someone actually responds, which only happens on the ones worth handling.

How to connect

  1. Go to your Seth dashboard and open Settings → Integrations.

  2. Find the Gorgias card and click Connect Gorgias.

  3. Type your Gorgias account name. That's just the first part of your Gorgias URL. If you log in at ringlystore.gorgias.com, your account name is ringlystore. You only need the name, not the full web address.

  4. Click Continue. You'll be sent to Gorgias to approve the connection.

  5. Approve it, and you'll come back to Seth with a "Gorgias is connected" confirmation.

That's it. From that point on, Seth logs calls to your helpdesk automatically.

What a logged call looks like in Gorgias

  • Subject: a short label with the caller's number.

  • Body: the summary, the caller's details, the full transcript, and a link to open the call in Ringly.

  • Tags: Seth AI call plus the outcome and the category.

  • Status: resolved and transferred calls come in closed as a record. Unresolved and escalated calls come in open so they sit in your team's queue.

Disconnecting

  1. On the Gorgias card in Settings → Integrations, click the three-dots menu.

  2. Choose Disconnect.

  3. Confirm in the popup.

One extra step on Gorgias's side: Gorgias doesn't let us remove the app for you, so to fully clean up, go to https://your-account.gorgias.com/app/settings/integrations/mine and delete the Ringly app there too.

Reconnecting

Seth keeps the connection alive on its own, so you normally never touch this. If the connection ever expires or gets revoked, the Gorgias card shows a "connection expired" warning with a Reconnect button. Click it to re-authorize with Gorgias and restore the connection.

FAQ

Does this cost extra?
No, the Gorgias integration is included. You'll need your own active Gorgias account.

Will the call tickets run up my Gorgias bill?
No. Gorgias only counts a ticket as billable once a message is sent from your helpdesk. The records Seth logs are inbound-only, so they don't add to your bill unless your team replies to one.

Does every call create a ticket?
Almost. The exception is calls where there's no caller to attach to, like a blocked or anonymous number with no details. Those are skipped so your helpdesk doesn't fill up with empty contacts.

Will it create duplicate tickets?
No. Each call creates one ticket, and Seth matches the caller to your existing Gorgias customer rather than making a new contact every time.

Will I still get escalation emails?
Once Gorgias is connected, escalations come in as Gorgias tickets instead of emails, so your helpdesk becomes the single place to handle them. You won't get the same escalation twice.

Does Seth read or change my existing Gorgias tickets?
No. Seth only creates new tickets for its own calls and looks up customers to attach those tickets. It doesn't edit or close your team's other tickets.

What permissions does Seth get?
Just what it needs to create tickets and look up customers. You approve the exact scopes on the Gorgias screen during connect.

Is my data secure?
The connection uses Gorgias's standard OAuth approval, and the access tokens are stored privately, only reachable by your own workspace.

Troubleshooting

"Invalid Gorgias account name" when I type my account.
Enter only the account name, lowercase, letters, numbers, and hyphens only. Don't paste the full URL or add .gorgias.com. If your login is ringlystore.gorgias.com, just type ringlystore.

I approved the connection but got an error message.
First, reload your Settings page and check the Gorgias card. If it shows connected, you're good. If it still shows not connected, try Connect Gorgias again in the same browser session (don't switch browsers or log out mid-flow).

The card says "connection expired."
Click Reconnect. Seth will take you back to Gorgias to re-authorize. If it keeps expiring, your Gorgias account access may have been revoked on the Gorgias side, check that the Ringly app is still installed under your Gorgias integrations.

Calls aren't showing up as tickets.
Confirm the card shows connected and not expired, and that the call actually completed. Calls from blocked or anonymous numbers are skipped by design. If identified calls still aren't appearing, reach out and we'll look at the connection on our end.
