What are advanced agents in Ringly.io?
They use conversational flow steps. For simple agents you can only add general instructions.
But with advanced agents you can add steps the agent needs to follow, and add specific instructions for that step. During a call, the agent uses both general and step-specific instructions
Why would you use advanced AI phone agents?
Having instructions per step helps the agent stay focused without too much information. This means that your agent will:
Answer faster
Give better answers
Better follow what you want the agent to do
It can handle more information in total (because it is split up in chunks per step)
So, your agent is ideal for complex tasks. Examples:
1. Lead customers through detailed chats.
2. Answer many types of questions.
3. Help with multi-step tasks and support
How to create advanced agents:
Go to the Agents page and click "+ Create new". Then you'll see a popup with templates, and some agents have an "Advanced" badge. Click on them to create an advanced agent from a template:
If you create an agent from scratch, you can click on "Or start from scratch" in the same popup:
After having chosen inbound or outbound, you can choose to create a simple or advanced agent:
When you're agent is created you'll be redirected to your agent, and when you scroll down you'll see the conversational flow steps. This is something only advanced agents have:
The starting step is where the conversation begins. When clicking on a step, you can edit the step in the right panel.
You can do 2 things here:
1. Add instructions for this step specifically:
2. Add next steps, meaning: steps the agent will go to after it has completed this step. Also write a sentence saying when the agent should go to that next step:
You can add multiple next steps as well, but be sure to make it clear when the agent goes to what step:
